As you might recall, I love to swim. Two or three times a week, I swim at the local YMCA, which has huge physical and psychological benefits. Sometimes, though, there are minuses along with the pluses. Today was a perfect example. I had an awesome swim. All told, I swam a full mile, and I did it at a decent clip, using multiple styles of strokes. In the process of doing my lengths, I did some good thinking, and I came up with a great idea for a novel! A series of novels, in fact. I’ve been trying to come up with this idea for quite a while, but couldn’t zero in on it till today. I was cruising along, doing length after length, and voila! The idea popped into my head!
But there was a downside. While jumping up out of the pool like usual, my foot slipped, and I whacked the front of my shin but good. It still hurts like the dickens! What a dumb move! I’ve hopped up out of that pool a thousand times before with no problem, and presto, I had to go and slip! But I have to admit, when considering the big picture, it was a small price to pay for the great novel idea. It was a tiny price to pay, in fact. I guess everything in life has its ups and downs. See you soon!
