That’s right! You read the title correctly! My 2008 taxes are all done! Finally!! Today, I finished and mailed my federal and state tax returns, then finished all three of my local tax returns! What a relief! This tax season gave me a real headache. It’s always tough getting done with my taxes, but this year was especially challenging. There were several issues that really held me up, and none of them could be quickly resolved. But now it’s all done, thank God! I can finally put them aside for another year…or at least get back to my normal year-round tax preparations. That’s something that never stops, as I continuously gather, file, and track my receipts for all writing-related expenses. My writing is a full-time business, and I have to work constantly to keep up with the paperwork. But the returns are done for another year, so life is sweet. To celebrate, my wife and I went out to Red Lobster for dinner, which was great. And I even got my Daily Grand put in on the novel, so I’m happy. The river keeps rolling.
Now for today’s photo. Since I’ve been thinking a lot about New York City lately, given our upcoming trip there in June, here’s another New York shot. This one’s a photo of me and my pal, Dan Barkhimer, on top of one of the World Trade Center towers. It does make me feel kind of melancholy, after everything that happened there, but I’m still glad I got to experience the towers when they were still standing. See you tomorrow!
