Things are revving up on the marketing front. Today, I was able to send out five novel queries to editors…not bad, considering I usually don’t manage to send out one! It’s a great feeling, putting the bait out there after such a long time, giving myself more chances at making a sale. That’s the great thing about this process: every new query I send out is another chance at success. It’s new hope, and that’s what keeps me going. Keeps me writing, day in and day out, when it would be so much easier to watch TV or go have drinks or go goof around. It’s what keeps my butt in the chair…and that, in turn, is what keeps new novels happening, and new novels are what brings me even more hope. Added to all that is the fact that the big Marketing Workshop in Oregon is coming up in less than a month, bringing with it new opportunities for learning, creative ideas, networking, and practice. All of that adds up to…say it with me, class…more hope!
Now for today’s photo. In honor of President Obama’s trip to England, this one’s a shot of me in front of the gates of Buckingham Palace from October 1992. I got to see the changing of the guard, which was awesome beyond belief…though I did not have any personal encounters with actual royals. See you tomorrow!
