Appraisals

April 14, 2009

The appraisal on our house, which is part of our mortgage refinancing, came back with a great result today, exceeding my expectations.  We’re now able to move forward with the refi, which should be complete sometime in May.  On the other hand, I received some interesting information today with forced me to reappraise my own attitudes and behaviors.  That happens sometimes, doesn’t it?  You’re cruising along, doing your thing, and suddenly you realize you’ve gotten off track.  Time to swing the steering wheel back around and get on course again.  The interesting thing, without being too specific about all this, is that it does enrich my writing.  The crazy dramas that happen every now and then give me great ideas for stories and novels.  So maybe they’re necessary…or at least beneficial, as long as they don’t drive me too far out on a limb.

Now for today’s photo.  On the heels of Easter weekend, here’s a shot of me in St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican, in Italy, from June 1997.  Now that is an incredible place, especially if you have any kind of Catholic background at all.  “Awe” is not too strong a word to use to describe it.  See you tomorrow!
