As I mentioned yesterday, I’ve been working on a comic book script for the first time in years. And I love it! I forgot how much I enjoy working with the form! It’s so different from straight prose fiction, so challenging in different ways. It’s fun because you have to have strong visuals in your head as you write, and then you need to mingle the visuals, dialogue, and narration (if any) to achieve a cool effect. It’s like writing a film script in that you have to choose “camera angles” and set up the shots…but there are extra levels of meaning made possible by the unique factors of timing and page composition. What fun. I really hope this script and the accompanying proposal will lead to more work of this nature. I’d love to write some more comics really soon…especially this particular storyline, which I think has real potential. Fingers crossed, right? As always! See you soon.
