It’s been a soggy, cool summer so far in Western Pennsylvania…not exactly ideal weather for using a backyard swimming pool. In fact, until today, I hadn’t gotten in my pool even once this year! But finally, I bit the bullet and put the pool to use! The occasion was a visit from Andrew, my 7-year-old nephew from Erie. Today, we finally caught a break with the weather; it turned sunny, clear, and warm. So Andrew, of course, was psyched to hit the water, and I joined him. It was still bracing getting in (the water temp was around 72 degrees, our propane heater isn’t working), but Andrew and I were goofing around so much, we didn’t notice the cold. I’m so glad we finally got to use the pool after all this time. It’s frustrating putting so much time and money into it, then not being able to use it. Now, finally, I feel like summer has begun!
