Back from the Oregon Workshops

July 21, 2009

I’m back!  From the triple-threat workshops in Lincoln City, Oregon, that is.  What a fantastic experience, too.  I learned tons, worked on craft, brainstormed, networked, and reenergized.  It was incredible, and I’ll be doling out more details in days to come.  For now, let me just say two words:  jet lag!  I’m definitely still readjusting from West Coast Time to the East Coast version, and it hasn’t been easy.  Today was also my first day back to work, which wasn’t a picnic, either.  Needless to say, I’m backlogged in every possible way, and it will take time to dig myself out from under.  When you step out of your life like I did (in this case, for 11 days), you tend to have a bunch of unfinished business waiting for you when you return.  Though, really, I’ve got more than 11 days’ worth of unfinished business; I let things slide in lots of ways for several weeks leading up to the workshop, while I got ready for it (and went to New York City for a week in June, then tacked on a week of time-critical follow-up).  Suffice it to say, I’ve got my hands full right now!  Plus company coming and two major family events scheduled for this weekend!  And the real crime of it is, I’m super-pumped about my writing, can’t wait to apply the lessons I learned at the workshops…but I’ve got no time to do it!  So anyway, now you know I’m back, and I’ll be posting regularly on this blog once more.  Looking forward to blogging and getting you caught up on the latest from my life and career.  See you soon!
