Time Management

August 13, 2009

One of my writing mentors, Kristine Kathryn Rusch, has just posted the latest installment of what she calls The Freelancer’s Survival GuideEssentially, this is a guide to making a living as a freelancer…but I think it’s packed with great information for anyone making any kind of living.  In this book, which Kris has been posting free of charge on her blog, she writes about managing money, priorities, employees…and now, today, time.  And who among us can’t use some sound advice on time management?

It’s great stuff, and I highly recommend you check it out right here.  If you’re a freelancer or thinking of becoming one, this is a document you can’t do without.  It will help shape your decisions and move forward along whatever path you choose as the next step in your career.

Kris’ husband, Dean Wesley Smith, is also a writing mentor of mine, and his blogs are wonderful, too.  I recommend you check out today’s, about the stages of becoming a writer.  And go through the archived blogs, too, because you’ll find a ton of wonderful and informative stuff.

If only we’d had the web and bloggers like Kris and Dean when I was first getting interested in writing.  I could’ve saved myself so much time and avoided so many mistakes.  But all we had back then were those telephones made of rock and mastodon tusks, and those newspapers chiseled on slabs of granite.  It was not as much fun as it sounds.  See you soon!
