Regaining Altitude

August 22, 2009

Finally, I’m getting back up to speed on the fiction writing!  Late July and most of August, by design, have been non-writing-intensive periods.  During these past weeks, I’ve helped with three big birthday parties (one a 90th, one a 65th, one an 8th!), spent quality time outdoors, visited friends and family, and dealt with a few home-related problems (leaky roof, yellowjackets, plumbing trouble, pool issues).  I’ve tried to make the most of the quality weather we’ve gotten at the tail end of summer, and I’ve put in some extra time on the day job.  So the writing has suffered…but yesterday and today, I made a start at regaining altitude.  Once more, I applied the classic formula that I’ve neglected for too long:  butt + chair = writing.  And not a minute too soon, as the list of projects I must tackle (assigned, invited, and purely on spec) has grown to ginormous proportions.  So wish me luck as I forge ahead, further reestablishing my full-bore writing groove and again making progress on the fiction front.  Because I really do have a crap-load of cool stuff to write!  I think you’re gonna like it!  See you soon!
