I’m going with Dish Network! After decades of straight-up cable TV, I’m finally switching to satellite. It’ll happen soon, and I’m hoping it’s for the best. I’ve heard lots of good things about Dish, and I think I’ve made a good choice, but time will tell. Either way, the price is right, especially for the first nine months; even after that, it won’t be much more than my current cable service. Plus which, I’ll have a nifty dual DVR to record shows. No more screwing around with faulty VCRs and stacks of videotapes. In fact, the recent breakdown of my primary VCR/DVD machine was what got the ball rolling. Once I started exploring the options (and found out how hard it is to find a decent VCR with a built-in tuner!), I decided to give Dish Network a whirl. Rest assured, I’ll let you know how it goes…but I have a feeling it’ll be pretty cool. I’ve seen Dish in action, and I think it’ll suit me fine. So away we go! See you soon!
P.S. Remember to check out my new super-hero story right here at the latest issue, number 9, of A Thousand Faces, The Quarterly Journal of Superhuman Fiction. My story’s called “Forced Retirement,” and it’s about a mighty super-hero who comes down with Alzheimer’s disease. Enjoy!
And here’s the cover of the print version of that issue, which you can order here from Lulu.
