From Oregon

May 5, 2009

I thought it was about time for a note from Oregon, just to let you all know that things are fine!  I’m sworn to secrecy about the workshop I’m attending, at least till it’s over…but I think it’s okay if I say I’m having a wonderful time and learning a ton.  I’m so grateful I’m able to be here for this, and to spend time with so many talented and interesting writers!  Plus which, the accommodations are excellent.  We’re lodged at a place called the Historic Anchor Inn, and it is very cool.  Lots of rustic seaside charm, fantastic service, and delicious free breakfasts daily!  The owner, Kip, is treating us all well, and so is his helper, Misty.  We’re seeing a lot of rain, but that’s okay when we’re spending 90% of our time in a meeting room or typing on a keyboard.  It’s very cool being by the ocean, though.  I love the views!  Now if I could just find the time to take a walk on the beach.

Now for today’s travel photo.  This one’s a shot of me in Bermuda.  See you soon.
