One of my latest e-books, Heroes of Global Warming, got a swell review on the Superheronovels.com website, which you can find right here. It’s a fun site, dedicated solely to super-hero fiction…not comics, but prose fiction. What I find exciting is that the editor/producer/writer/resident hero, Eric Searleman, never runs out of super-hero fiction to review. Which tells you something, when you think about it: this must be a real golden age for super-hero fiction. Super-heroes have done well in comics, TV, and movies over the years, but this upsurge in prose fiction seems to me a unique trend. And judging from all the material Eric continues to feature on his site, it’s a trend that doesn’t seem to be fading. So why not jump on the bandwagon and check out my latest super-hero opus, Heroes of Global Warming, which Eric reviewed quite positively. Here’s a quote: “Heroes of Global Warming is an explosive, orgasmic love story. Once again the author has come up with a creative way to twist superheroes into a delightful Plastic Man-like pretzel.” Not bad, eh? And here’s the cover of Heroes of Global Warming, by the inestimable Ben Baldwin:
The story goes like this:
The world’s hottest hero has gone rogue! In an age of global warming, super-heated hero Skillet looks like a lukewarm loser. But when his teammates, the Castigators, turn their backs on him, he turns the Castigators into prey. Let the hunt begin! Skillet becomes public enemy number one as he rounds up his former allies. But the secret plan behind his hunt might just save the world. The invention of evil genius Brain Fart could turn back the clock on global warming by melting down the high-powered do-gooders. Can Skillet capture the last of the heroes needed to charge the climate change reverser? Or will an out-for-blood super-hero hit squad cook his goose first? The hope of the future explodes in a fight to the death between the caped-and-cowled warriors of a doomed generation.
You can find Heroes of Global Warming for the Kindle right here, for the Nook right here, and for all other formats right here. I hope you’ll check it out.
