Isn’t it great to get a pleasant surprise? I actually had two of them today on the fiction writing side…nothing I can talk about yet, but both nice surprises. It was such a nice change from the daily grind of rejections; it’s things like this that help me stay positive during the long, hard slog between goodies (sales, in other words). Actually, I guess I had three nice surprises, counting the check that came in the mail for a recent story. Of course, I did have a huge disappointment today, as well, but it doesn’t seem as awful when set against the pleasant surprises.
I also watched the first half of the first episode of the new season of Mad Men today, and it was awesome. What an incredible show that is…so entertaining, intelligent, and dense. I’ve loved it from the start, and it truly never lets me down. Can’t wait to watch the rest of that first new episode tomorrow! See you soon!
