February 1, 2009
Thanks to all of you, this blog and website have gotten more visitors and hits than ever before! Until 2009, this site, which began in 2005, never had more than 283 unique monthly visitors, 467 unique daily visitors, or 6688 hits in any single month. In January 2009 alone, however, we’ve broken all the records by huge margins! Check out these numbers from January 2009: 399 unique monthly visitors; 1357 unique daily visitors; and a whopping 11,744 hits. I think it’s amazing, and you all deserve to share the credit.
I also think it’s a testament to the power of blogging. Until January 2009, I never blogged regularly on my site. Then, on January 4, 2009, I started the daily Fictioneer blog…and the numbers have climbed like mad ever since. It really does make a difference if I post fresh content daily (and keep it interesting). The numbers aren’t huge; this isn’t exactly Boing Boing or Weather.com. Still, I think they’re great, and I look forward to adding more visitors in months to come. It’s good knowing you’re out there reading this; it makes me feel like the work has some value, that you’re getting something out of it. That you might come back for more.
So thanks again to each and every one of you! Give yourselves a round of applause, pat yourselves on the back, and remember to drop by again soon for more fresh stuff. See you tomorrow!
