I’m still back from the marketing workshop! That’s about the only news flash I have for today. The good thing is, I’ve mostly recovered from traveling and have begun to process and apply what I learned at the workshop. Begun is the operative word, actually. I learned so much during those nine days that it’s going to take a while for it all to settle in. But at least I’ve made a start. Tonight, in fact, I’ve been working on a new query letter for the urban fantasy I wrote leading up to the workshop. (I didn’t do much work on it, thanks to the season finale of Lost…but I at least deserve a cheer for leaving halfway through, don’t I? Because otherwise, I never would have gotten any work done tonight.) So I’ve been writing this query letter, which has forced me to apply a bunch of things I learned in Oregon last week. And that, in turn, has forced me to read other parts of my notes, reminding me of other things I learned. Which has reminded me, yet again, just how incredible the workshop was. Hopefully, I’ll really get firing along tomorrow, when I won’t have to watch Lost or mow the entire yard in advance of a rain storm, like I did tonight.
Anyhow, time for another travel photo. This one was taken at breakfast at the Historic Anchor Inn, where the workshop was held. My fellow writers and I enjoyed free heaping breakfasts every day, which was a good thing, because we often didn’t have time to eat any other meals. See you tomorrow.
