Stop and Go Writing

August 10, 2009

I admit it.  I have a tendency to overplan.  I’ll pile too many activities into too short a period of time, and then I’ll wonder why on Earth I didn’t get everything done.  Case in point, this week.  I badly want to get some writing done, but I’m overbooking the week in a big way.  Already, Wendy and I have plans to visit writer friends tomorrow night.  Wednesday, I’m considering a bike ride with my parents.  Saturday, I might go to the movies (District 9) with my brother.  Plus a few other activities that might fall into place for the next couple of days.  The result, if everything I’ve set in motion comes to fruition:  stop and go writing with too many interruptions.  Maybe I need to pare down the plans…but doggone it, we get so little nice weather, and I’d like to make the most of it for a change.  Maybe I should just forget the writing for the rest of the month, surrender to the Dog Days plans I’m making, and enjoy life for a while.  But I don’t know if I can stand to do that for much longer!  Aargh!  At least I did a little writing tonight, over 500 words.  I guess it’s a start.  See you soon.
