In days of yore, writers published weekly serials that kept readers on the edge of their seats. Starting today, I’m trying the same thing. Every Saturday, a new chapter of my thriller serial, Heaven Bent, will go on sale for the Kindle, Nook, and other e-reading devices. If you love Lost, Alcatraz, Alias, or even Once Upon a Time, this one’s for you. Here’s a look at the cover of part 1, by the unbelievably badass Ben Baldwin:
What’s Heaven Bent all about? What’s with the heavenly imagery, the ominous logo, and the crashed helicopter? Well, here’s the story in a nutshell: Stag the movie star is on a roll. Oscar nominations and millions of dollars fall in his lap. So when the omens pile up, including dire warnings from his own future self, he blows them off. Ignoring the danger signs, the superstar does his own stunt for a huge action picture–and disaster strikes. His charmed life turns into a not-so-charmed afterlife, as Stag ends up in a Heaven unlike any he ever imagined. A Heaven filled with deadly dangers, terrifying secrets, and an incredible cast of friends and foes. A Heaven that might just hold the key to a shocking destiny beyond anything dreamed of by man or god. And only Stag can step up and get to the bottom of it all in this place that’s so much more than what it seems.
Sounds intriguing, doesn’t it? Why not pick up a copy here for the Kindle, here for the Nook, and here for most other e-reading devices. Welcome to the great experiment!
