Yesterday, I wrote about my new story, “The Love Quest of Smidgen the Snack Cake,” in the latest issue of Space and Time. I also mentioned some other writing news, so let’s talk about that a bit. This fall, a story of mine will appear in a new fantasy anthology from DAW Books titled The Trouble With Heroes. Edited by the fabulous Denise Little, this book will explore stories of some of the greatest heroes in fantasy and mythology…heroes who turn out to have feet of clay. My story, “The Ballad of the Groupie Everlasting,” focuses on the Pied Piper of Hamelin, who turns out to share many of the same foibles as modern-day rock stars. I definitely wrote it with tongue in cheek, and I think it has some funny moments. So I hope you’ll give it a try. You can preorder The Trouble With Heroes from Amazon right here. And the cover looks like this:
I hope you’ll check it out. The Trouble With Heroes features lots of great stories from lots of great authors, many of them good friends of mine. So I highly recommend it, and not just for my own piece of literary real estate. I’ll be sure to let you know when the book hits stores, so watch this space.
More writing news and information to come! See you soon!
