Weekend of Milestones

July 26, 2009

This weekend, I was busy from start to finish thanks to celebrations surrounding two family milestones.  On Saturday, I attended a party in honor of the 90th birthday of my father-in-law, Bob Snavely.  It was a first-class shindig at a local country club, featuring every last one of Bob’s children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all spouses and significant others.  Here’s a shot:

On Sunday, I got the ball rolling for a tea in honor of my mother, Marge’s, 65th birthday.  We held the tea at a local tea room called Tea Fancies in the Moxham section of Johnstown.  It was another big success, and here’s a shot:

Both events went extremely well and were more than worth the time and effort of everyone involved.  However, now I find myself on the brink of the work week saying, “Wha hoppen?”  Feels like one of those weekends that never was.  Then again, I guess every weekend feels like that, doesn’t it?  They’re just never long enough.  Anywho, onward and upward into the work week!  The next weekend will roll around sooner than you think.  See you soon!
