Yard Work Weekend

April 26, 2009

With sunny weather in the mid-to-upper 80s, I had to get out and hit the yard work this weekend.  I got a lot done, too.  Mowed, trimmed, swept, set up patio furniture, put up lawn ornaments, etc.  It really felt good getting some sunshine and a sweet summer preview.  It was also great seeing my parents, who returned Saturday from Florida.  I hadn’t seen them in five months, and I’d really missed them.  Wendy and I had dinner with them today at the local Mexican place, Rey Azteca, which was great.  I also spent some quality time with Wendy, which was good considering I’ll be workshopping in Oregon soon.  The only problem this weekend was that I didn’t have much time to get ready for the workshop or do much that was related to writing.  That puts me behind the eight ball going into the week, but hopefully I’ll pull my act together and get caught up.

Now for today’s photo.  Apropos of nothing, here’s a shot of me marching to protest the Persian Gulf War in 1991 in Washington, D.C.  See you soon.
